Sorry I don't really have anything to add to the topic at hand. All I know is that you want a sacrificial pasture for the winter and that rye grass is a pretty good pasture grass here. There is a place where you can look up how many animals you can keep per acre based upon your soil type . . . I think it is NRCS I haven't had time to look up our own property since we can't keep most small livestock on account of the local predators. Sorry I don't know more.

Hey no worries, you can post all you want.
And like I said, I don't have the livestock to worry about....or the land to put them on. :p I was just curious if it was possible to plant as mixed pasture only or to have it as seperate crop.
