I recently discovered this sight through back yard chickens
yes I have chickens...up to 8 now and love them all
I very much am imbracing self sufficiency..
about a year ago now...moved 2 hours away from the city...
to a small town...we have ,85 of an acre...with unique foresty walk..
there are lots of mountains around us...but we still seem to get enough sun
lots of rivers too...I get so much satisfaction in life finding unique rocks and driftwood...
we just want to pay off the house and be ok in life...
so it isn't that we don't have money...but don't want too spend it...
I was a single mom....
was hard making it...and I am proud of the skills I learned...
I am an avid barginist...am lucky because this small town actually has 4 little thrift stores...
and the next town over...which is about 40 min away I have been going to 4 but have just discovered 2 more..to check out...has a re store for building materials.too...but is too bad only have a car....
but life is good...

I am very glad to have found this forum...of like minded people...
I just don't feel contected to how most people I know in there mas comerialism lives live...
I used to live in North vancouver...(remember the winter olympics?????that was my hometown)

Zanya is the name of my cat,..we were asked to take in ..she is so lovely...
we learned zanya means beautiful in arabic...
