My husband and I love mushrooms..I’ve been looking into growing our mushrooms for a couple years but never got around to doing...this year is the year and we chose shiitake mushroom spores to inoculate logs that will give us years of mushrooms.

I’m over the moon knowing we are finally going to do this..

Does anyone else grow their own?

Ah wish I could contribute, I recently borrowed a book from the library to read up on it, and my sister has told me about a farm she visited that does it. So we're probably like you; we'll talk about for a couple years and then finally do it!

I've grown shiitaki mushrooms in a box in the tub of an unused bathroom before. We had lots. We were able to keep that room as dark and cool as needed. The next year we grew Morel? And once another kind, but none outside. My husband loves mushrooms so we might add that at some point.
