Is this Taro Plant? Also…while we at it maybe give me similar ideas for a permanent survival garden.

My sister cooked a dish once that I ate which her deceased FIL had grown. I really think this is it.

I will ask if I can dig some up and see what the root looks like. I know the old man farmed there. If I am correct I will dig up a lot…cook some and plant some. Apparently it’s very healthy and won’t do the damage of potatoes. My godchild’s husband claims people use it as baby food in Cuba.
