Love reading here, the canning is awesome. Im making strawberry jam this weekend. Haven't canned in years. Hope it turns out, following a recipe on here.

Im a country girl at heart, want my farm. I'm trying. Married to a Jersey man. Girls, the men up north are awesome. He grew up in the city, but spent a lot of time at the beach. I grew up in the country and spent most of my time crawdad fishing and riding motorcycles. He's Mohawk. I'm descended from the Chickasaws. He built a full size teepee in our backyard that we were married under.

I am focused on buying land- ten acres I hope. And building on that. Having pigs, horses, cows and chickens. No geese. My mama's geese used to chase me and bite my calves when I was little. Then once our great dane was shot full of rock salt and I nursed it back to health. The first thing he did when he was healed, was snatch up the goose that was attacking me and kill it. Momma still doesnt know who killed her prize goose.

Welp, thats about it for now. I will regale you with more of my jabberings later.

Well since this is a journal, I figured I'd put it to use.
This weekends chore list.

Since the ragweed is kicking my butt extra hard this week, I'm gonna probably do as little as possible, pop anti hystamine and sleep.

I need to let my very naughty roo out of his pen, he flew the fence a few days ago and I have had him penned till I could put up some plastic netting. He paces the pen and looks at me like I'm satan right now. But its not fun to have to come home from work to a roo pooping all over my front porch table. Then scooping him up and putting him back with the girls. I hope this works, otherwise my girls may be single again. And I may wave to him while he hangs out at the neighbors house. I aint chasing him. Im too old and he's too fast. I also need to dump all the feed into the container and mix it.

Need to head down to the dirt guys and get some compost for my planters. Im having to pull out my roses and put them in containers for when we move. The house went up for sale last week, but it may not sale for a while, according to the agent, the market is slow. But this may be a good thing, gives me time to pull up my plants and look for another house. A house with acreage and fences and trees, gobs and gobs of trees.The agent did say that my landscaping would help move this place. I have a very green thumb. I favor the cottage look and we have a patio off of our bedroom french doors that is heaven, if I do say so myself. I have mass planting of poppies, four o clocks, hydrangea, roses, marigolds, zinnias, impateins, dusty miller, begonias, trumpet vine and honeysuckle. Just to name a few off the top of my head. I also have grapes, blackberries, blueberries, citrus, mulberry, fig, persimmon and mustang grapes. I need to take cuttings and root what I can. Transplant some and dig up some of the millions or daff bulbs and spider lillies. Oh I forgot about the easter lilies and tulips around the tree. Well, this is gonna take the whole weekend and then some.

TO DO LIST

mix chicken feed and free naughty rooster.
Get compost
dig up bulbs from front bed
Take cuttings
put some in containers
prep house for photos on Sunday (agent is taking pics)
shop for king size bed and twin
after agent leaves make strawberry jam
Maybe surprise DH with homemade bread

I wonder if I can come back monday and say "I did it all" yeah that was what I was thinking, nope, Benadryl will kick in and I'm done for.
