The people I know just run a couple of black garden hoses on thier roofs and it does great!

Try using a series of 15-foot black rubber hoses, tightly coiled, inside a wooden frame. Cover the coiled hoses with black plastic and install on a rooftop. Pump the water through the coiled hoses and into the pool. As the pool water moves through the hose it picks up heat. This lets you run a lot of piping into a small space.

I posted a pop can solar heater as a thought to heat a chicken coop. Not sure how you're thinking ti could heat a pool though, as it heats air. Why not use black tubing coiled on a south facing roof, hooked up to the pump, and then put the pump on a timer to run every other 1/2 hour for daylight hours. I have seen it done this way many times, and after my addition to the barn is completed, this is what I will be doing, unless i see other better ideas, to heat my pool.
