Howdy from Texas

I was invited to this site by a good friend, Beekissed. My husband and I have lived in Texas for almost 7 years. He is an Okie and I am a Hoosier.

We have 2 children, grown and living on their own. We have an ornery cat and 11 chickens. We love the Texas climate, but can't say the same about the clay soil.

I want to learn from those who are living off the land. I want to learn the old ways and get away from 'modern' ideas. My husband and I definitely want to be self-sufficient.

Welcome from NH! I don't have the clay issue but hey, I have 5 months of snow so I think it's a toss up
