I had a baking frenzy last week. I was making everything sd. Then, I had nothing else to make for a while, so i put my starter in the fridge. last night I took it out, cuz I wanted to bake again, and so I warmed it up and then fed it.

It smells like paint.

It is bubbling like crazy, but it smells like paint.

Can I save it?

I'm not sure why it would be smelling like paint now - you didn't use a paint stirrer to mix it did you? Anyway, what might work to get it back on track would be to remove most of what you have (or, maybe better, move a spoonful to a new, clean container) and feed it again as usual. Leave it at room temperature, and discard, and feed again every day for a few days. If it doesn't start to smell more like it should after a few days it may be too far gone, but its worth a shot to save it I think. Good luck.
