I'm trying to get a project off the ground for a group of young boys.
We want to build a wind turbine, solar panels to to heat up water, convert a car to run on water (they're sure they can do it) and much more.. lots of zeal.

It's all so vast for me though...

So, How hard is it to build a simple generator totally form scratch? Nothing majorly productive, but something to get them out of the realm it being an impossibility.

Or should I just take apart a motor and use parts for a project?

I don't have any help for you but it must be nice to be around boys interested in creating and building instead of just sitting in front of the tv or computer.

And this one is a very good one, describing how to build the generator itself.

Wow! Great links!

Now I want to sit here and read instead of working on Easter dinner!! (I think I have a 20 minute lag here, though...)

Thanks again for posting!
