I just found this link on the net today about a group of farmers from New Zealand that have recently immigrated to Missouri to run their grass-fed dairy operation.

Kiwi Dairy Farmers in Missouri

They are really showing the confinement dairy farmers a thing or two. Yippee!

I particularly like this little quote, "
New Zealanders are considered among the most efficient dairy producers in the world. As a result, much of the country's suitable land has been converted to pasture, driving up prices and forcing dairy farmers there to look overseas for new opportunities."

Quite! :) I've read that NZ farmers have been doing grass farming for a very long time....I would love to go there and see how developed their pastures are. I think that is what impressed me so about Salatin's place, the fields are so doggone green and lush!
