My favorite hen is shedding feathers like crazy. Her comb is also very pale. This particular hen is 16 months old. She started laying in August 2008 and was an excellent layer until she went broody 7 weeks ago. She hatched a duck egg 2 weeks ago and is tending to the duckling. She is eating more than she was while incubating her eggs. The last couple of days, her shedding has really picked up. Is this a normal time for her to be moulting? Or is she sick?
