natural posion ivy/sumac relief

I hope so one can help me. my better half and our daughter both have posion ivy. i'm lucky enough that i dont get it , but my little one has it and her daddy has it even worse. He works out side 12 hrs a day so he REALLY needs something , PLEASE HELP !

Jewelweed is the best, natural plant that I know of for poison ivy, and I just learned that Grindelia aka Gumweed is another.

I've used our saltwater tank to help dry it out, when I get it on my hands or arms so I suspect you could make a saltwater solution using table salt for relief.

You can make a "tea" from the leaves of any birch. Boil 1 cup of water, then add a good handful of birch leaves to the water and let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Then, strain the mixture and wipe the tea where it itches. I've used this several times and it seems to work well.

Just crush up the Jewelweed in your hands, and rub it on. I use it all the time. It is found in wetlands and streambeds, it is related to the flower impatients.

OK, this is NOT a natural cure, but I am highly allergic to posion oak and I don't care what the remedy is when I am whelped up and itching like mad.
Clorox. Draw up a tub of water, dump in 2-3 cups of clorox and climb in. Or mix it up in a bowl and apply with a wash cloth. It will stop the itch, dry up the liquid filled rash bumps and bring RELIEF. Just plain clorox. Hope this helps.
