Every homesteader or DIYer has that one tool they can’t live without. You know, the one that always seems to save the day no matter the project. Sometimes it’s something simple like a trusty hammer, and other times it’s something you’d never expect.

What tool is your ride-or-die? Maybe it’s held together with duct tape but still gets the job done. Or maybe it’s shiny and new and makes every task easier. Tell us about your favorite and why you love it so much!

I have a Craftsman screwdriver that eliminates my need to find the right type and size screwdriver. The driver is also ratcheted, so it saves my wrist.

After hurricane Beryl last year, I discovered the joys of a mini-chainsaw. Much lighter weight than a full-size one and not so scary for me to use. It came with a case and some extras like an extra battery, chain, bar, gloves (joke), oil and a tightening tool. They're very economical and if it bites the dust just buy another - it's not that much of an outlay. However, mine is still going strong after weeks of hurricane cleanup. I only resorted to the bigger chainsaw for trunks and really big main branches.
