I am in need of a certain tool for the barn.
I am having trouble finding out what its called though.
Its the old fashioned root vege shredder for feeding cows and goats.

Anyone know what its proper name is?

No, its a huge thing. Its like a vege shredder that would remind you of a small commercial mulcher.
Hand cranked.

check out that one site, it shows you one that you can make with a manual lawnmower.--kinds cool and ingenious at the same time. If you can't find one maybe you can make one.

No luck in finding one. I know people still have them around in barns, but I'm thinking that finding on in Alaska is asking too much!
I might just try and find a vintage hand crank food shredder.
My goal is to grow and feed mangles, turnips, carrots and beets this summer, enough to feed not only us, but suppliment the goats as well.

Like the one they used in Victorian Farm? It would be cool to have one, and I want to try growing mangels too, but I don't want to have to chop them up. :/
