Dogs are great--until their poop gets all over your new shoes. Even when dog owners responsibly dispose of dog waste, the excrement continues to generate methane, a potent greenhouse gas. That's where the Park Spark project, billed as the first public methane digester for dogs, comes in.

that is very interesting

seems like a great idea for being green....can't think of any downsides? unless people deposit more than just poop and turn the handle. I could see it being vandalized but other than that....seems relatively cheap setup for what good it does, so cool

so even if someone decides to drop in plastics or other things on a whim....it does get cleaned out eventually by a park worker so truly it a good situation. Unless someone throws in a match with a flame??
