You could build a small tractor for them out of crates and hardware cloth....ours love being on the ground and it's not that hard to move them. We did a small tractor and we use it for everything. We used it for quail at one point but built another pen for them cause we had a broody hen we had to isolate. Here's a pic
We used crates but all you would have to do is make a rectangle frame and cover it with hardware cloth and cover a small portion for them to have some shelter from the weather and voila! They really seem to like being on the ground but they poo quite a bit so you'll need to move it every couple of days. Just make sure they have plenty of sunlight.

And no husband to consult can actually be dangerous for me. I'm already overworked.
