So my little peanut has had a headache for the past few days...bad enough that the little medicine hater asked me to go buy her some Tylenol. :ep

She now has had a slight fever since Tuesday. She was acting fine but I kept her home thinking she may be contageous.

Wed she still felt a little warm but was acting fine....other than her nose had started running, so I figured that explained the headache.

Last night she started coughing, still feeling warm and a runny nose.

My friend son had a low grade fever for three days, and the cough started on day 2. She took him in and he has pneumonia. The kids were together for several hours on Sat.

I am thinking that this warrents a visit to the dr. Not my usual approach but aren't fever and cough a concern together? The thing is she seems mostly fine. Not sleepy or sickly....just blowing her nose a lot and coughing.

Sorry your peanut is sic, :hugs

Sounds like she is just fighting off a bug. There are a few going around. Maybe treat the fever and give her something for the cough. I would just ride it out for a couple days. Is it a low fever?

Maybe a couple days of rest and chicken broth will help her come around.

Hey did you notice OFG and I on your porch? Do you happen to have any coffee? :fl

I would do doctor now

Nicole did the same. Snotty, feeling hot alot, slow moving, she would just say she didn't feel good, coughing, and I took her to the Dr. and she was one step from bronchitis.....she got meds and is perfect now.
I would not want to chance it getting into the chest. Not worth it at all.

hope she feels better soon...but I would get the meds and get it under control fast before it could become worse. Most things they sure get over, but Nicole was sick for like 7 days and not getting over it, so finally I said, nope, gotta go to the Dr. lol

yeah, where's the java? and i think Java is here too

so i'd be worried about the other kid with pneumonia. is your little one knocked off her feet or just fussy?

if just fussy it might just be a sinus thing.

hows about if you split the difference and call the dr? since she was with someone who was sick they might take a different approach??

I am working on a hot cuppa Joe right now, with plent of organic cream....yum :)

My concern is that she may have pneumonia. Her little buddy has it and had the exact same symptoms.

I do not own a thermometer, I bought one on Tuesday but it didn't work...said she was 94 degrees :barnie

She definitely does have a fever though, low grade and not impacting her too much. It is the couch that worries me I guess.

Oh shoot, she also spent Sat evening with a little friend who ended up being sent home from school on Monday (same as faith...don't think I mentioned that) and she ended up having to go to urgent care. I better call her mom this morning for an update...completely forgot about her!

chest is bad
that coughing usually is a chest thing
I got that diagnosis of one step from bronchitis and we all know that leads into pneumonia possibly so I took Nicole.

Dace if you are worried, then don't second quess yourself. It isn't worth it. Meds can fix alot of things fast lol and keep your stress level down and your child safe.

She is mostly her charming little self sprinkled with complaints rather than sugar though :)

Yeah....I think I will play it safe.

Thanks FC...you are right.

Normally I judge a kid by their demeanor.....Eating? Check. Playing? Check. Sleeping all night? Check. = all good.

But the exposure to pneumonia makes me nervous I guess because that little guy went to school the day of his diagnosis....his parents did not know he was that sick!

I'm around - wait, were you looking for :caf?

Since you know she was exposed, I would at least call the doc and get their opinion.

bronchitis and pneumonia are freaky

you can be eating, playing, functioning with symptoms til one minute you hit that "can't breathe well" situation and you end up in bad shape in the hospital for days or weeks.

My nice Aunt Betty Ann laid on the couch with exact symptoms "trying to get over this bug" and one morning she told hubby, I just can't breathe, my chest hurts more now, and she passed away 3 days later in the hospital from pneumonia....and she stopped at Moms house for a few days while traveling from Wis. to Florida. Mom was devastated this happend to Betty Ann....goes to show, some things you can try to overcome, but the chest can be so scary to me.
