It's a sea of orange up here in the winter - about every third house uses it. I haven't seen the wooden kind in years, it's all plastic here. The plastic is preferred because it's easier to put up in the fall, and takes up far less space when it comes time to store it. We lucked out with this house - we have, for the most part, natural wind blocks and haven't had any drifts yet (knock on wood ), so we don't need the fencing.
Thanks! You can still buy the "wooden slat" snow fence but it"s double the price of plastic. Guess plastic is the way I'll go. Hopefully it will last a few years at least!
