With in the next few weeks it will be onion set planting time here in zone 7 , So this week it will be time to fertilize the soil , Just curious as to what most folks use around the country, Nitrogen ? Etc and type

I dig out the barns. Lots of well-rotted compost-y type material in there - along with some fresher (goat) poop too.

Ya, I forgot, Compost,, small amount of wood stove ash, egg shells,

worms and worm outputs. green manures if i have time to harvest them. usually i don't.

I plan to try blood meal this year.

Can't even think about the garden with 6 inches of new snow from yesterday......

Wood ash, chicken, duck, turkey and cow manure. I plan on hay mulch this year. We'll see what becomes of it.
