check your catalogs from your area they will have the best plants for your area... being in New Hampshire I buy from Johnny's Select Seeds in Maine...I grow ever bearing and always have enough for the table and jams and the chickens...you might want to try a raised bed with lots of compost added then put in your plants and lay down straw to keep them out of the dirt...it takes a year to get good production out of them...I have had strawberries in my garden for 12 years and they seem to do well every other year...
