I'm not a beekeeper (yet) but I've been looking into this. I found one place that sells them but they are really sort of expensive - I thought ($275 or $350 for the "shorter" type).
I was thinking of posting a barter on craig's list - to barter future honey for hive construction - because I'm not Handy Harriet...and I also have a chicken coop to put together from a donated playhouse. You can get the plans for free a couple of different places.
