So rty007 had made a request - could I please take pics of a chick from hatch to say oh about 4 months of age.
I said, sure, I can do that!
I had posted pics in my journal, but since a lot gets put in my journal, I thought to give this project it's own thread (and may possibly copy it to BYC) so as to not lose it in all the chatter in my journal.
On Wednesday April 7 I had 3 Spitzhauben chicks hatch. I snapped a pic of them when they were only a few hours hold. They are still a little wet and unfluffed in this pic.
I took another pic of two of them, next to a pop can, on April 14, one week of age. In their one week pic, you can see that their wing feathers are growing in. What you cannot see is that their tail feathers have also started to come in.
I'll be taking more pics of them next Wednesday, April 21 and each Wednesday there after (if I remember! reminding me is helpful!) and posting them here.
I hope ya'll enjoy this, eventually I may do this again - if I can acquire a small scale - and weigh chicks each week and include their ideal weight at each age with their pics.
and FarmFresh, I'm cool with you using any part of this project on your website, just as long as I get credit for my pics
