As a SS goal for 2011 I am going to try and feed the animals from stuff I can forage or produce at home. Im going to grow some feed corn and a few sunflowers. And I plan to dry lawn clippings for the rabbits and ordering some worms to put in bins for the poultry. What do you feed your chickens, ducks and rabbits? Any ideas?

Add some small grains like oats and barley....sprouted, they are a good source of protein. Unsprouted, it offers variety in the diet. Sorghum is another option, and grain amaranth.

Pumpkins and winter squashes are a good food source into early and mid winter, also mangels are a good choice and can be cooked or shredded for the chickens, or fed whole and let them work at it.
