It depends on where I am.

Up north it was trout and salmon. Where I live now it's bluegill, bass, and catfish.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest so I would have to say Salmon and Rainbow trout from a cold source, lake trout tends to be mushy/pale. I have had great catfish in the south also!

I am a fisherman = preferred method cane pole and a worm!

I have caught every kind of lake fish on this tackle. Big catfish to big mouth bass.

Hubby prefers catfish cooked on the grill with a little lemon.

Fresh water fish would be the catfish, hands down. AMEN Quail_Antwerp!

Salt water, would have to be the Red Drum, or Redfish as it is called in most of the southern coastal areas. Awesome in a courtbouillon (pronounces "koo bee yawn" for you non-cajuns), blackened, or baked.

Bluegill, catfish, crappie. I love to fish, DH isn't so fond of it, tho'. There is nothing more peacefull than sitting on a river bank or a johnboat, waiting for that tug on the line. And with a jerk of your wrists at just the right time, setting the hook. The thrill of reeling it in, letting him play, reeling more until you can scoop him up in the net. Then taking the hook out and adding it to the stringer.

CATFISH!! crappie, perch, bass. Makes me hungry for a fish fry.
I love to fish but the kids keep me from doing it. Oh well they will be grown up soon enough that I can do it again. I like sitting out on our boat in a cove casting the line.
