Yes I have heard to keep rabbits away from chicken poop before because of disease spreading. I keep my (only 3) hens on cayenne pepper daily in their yogurt. I also keep ACV in their water and I rake the chicken's side daily when I get the eggs. (I hate stepping in chicken poop!)

(Check out hencam.com they also have rabbits with chickens. I know this is controversial (I got that impression from BYC :/!) but it works for us.)

FWIW, I keep my rabbits with chickens too , with no problems. I thought my bunns had ear mites in the winter, but they did not (dd was wrong in her diagnosis), so therefore, I have never treated my rabbits for anything yet--they are fine and healthy. My chickens, I have only ever treated for lice. They are healthy too.
