Thanks snapshot!

I hope the work for trade with the stand will be mutually beneficial. I've been burnt in the past by other ppl on this kinda deal. I don't think it will turn sour here but........

Well as per my new paygrade the last 6 weeks i've been slacking on blogs/forums and stuff. we have been doing good, we where drowning in pear tomatoes and cherokee purples, my tobacco plants did good and i harvested seeds from everything plus we now have hops! starting to cover the front. I've finished a new batch of beer and joined the Rotten Groton Hash house harriers! its a drinking club with a running problem! I was lucky enough to get to organize a community clean up project for the Chief's mess at a local elementary school thats doing gardens with the kids! its so awesome they were very proud of their work! we cleaned up the fence lines to staff and parents can see the kids walking to and from school, opened up the trials around the property that was covered with trees from the last hurricane that kids where crawling through, and cleared out the brambles from two small playgrounds.! i love doing that stuff. The running club / drinking club did a full moon run on friday and we passed by a lot of derelict properties i think i'm going to seed bomb the hell out of them and i'm going to talk to the RGH3 guys to see if they want to do a seed ball swinging run through some of the towns. what do you think drinking running and helping the environment all in one! (yes we recycle)

that sounds like a lot of fun! What kind of seeds were you thinking of spreading around?

Being in a urban setting I was thinking of a mix of cover crop, flowers & vegetables. I'm not sure if ppl will use the vegetables but if it grows food some one will find it. The cover will help with erosion and the more pollinators we bring in the better. I guess I would tailor the seed bombs to fit the target w/ a few generic ones. Kinda like a carpet bombing and surgical strikes for good measure. The biggest thing will be getting the seeds and materials then making them. But worth the effort to make. I can only do so much with what we rent I might as well help the local areas. I know some ppl dislike doing this sort of thing but if ppl get away with littering and dumping on these site are the police officers going to arrest me for planting food and such.......... possibly. But I do have a guy in the parks division that I can bug about doing this as a community service day on his under worked parks.

well as per my way i'm back blogging or whateverthis kinda thing is and Bubbles and I are doing good. i just returned from a trip home to TN spending time with my dad and sisters, looking for a house / land and generally not being military for w few days. i found out tons of optins for me when i retire and tons of incentives from TN to return. no hunting or fishing license if on leave and job oppurtunities for after the navy.

our garden has been cleaned up for the year and will not be put back in for next year (due to transfer), but if i can get tomatoes to grow in the pavement cracks and fix that horrribly maltreated yard and make a garden with very little money from my pocket i think we can say that my test run for a soil repair was good.

Our dog has started to become senile. he goes to sleep and forgets why he is up stairs and thinks he is in "time out" not to mention he is having a harder time getting moving in the morning. so he got a nice fluffy bed for hime which he likes down stairs and we are keeping an eye on him.

we now have a cat. his name is Archimedes 6 week old kitten. the dog and him are buddies and they both end up sleeping on me in the venings while i read or watch TV.

Pics to follow i promise.

the next big thing happening with us is my picking order in Jan hopefully i can find somewhere we will like. so far so good.

hope you guys had a great halloween!
