    Sufficient Self Forum - Let's have a heart-to-heart

I see that Windyhillfarms, Damummis and Framing fowl have changed the tone of this thread to the extent that I'm encouraged to post the reasons why I left. Not because I'm returning, this thread is too little, too late and has actually increased my level of dismay at how things were handled...

    BarredBuff's Homesteading Shenanigans

We had not been handling him....I do know about them breaking their backs from incorrectly handling them from my veterinary days, but we had not moved him????? There were other times when we probably didn't handle them the greatest (learning curve here) but no one had been messing with him at...

    BarredBuff's Homesteading Shenanigans

I kept one of the male offspring, because I lost one of my bucks, I mean, we had to put him down. Somehow he broke his back or something in the cage? He seemed paralyzed. We don't know why that happened. So I have no one to breed the one doe to right now until her son grows up, that is the...

Ohiofarmgirl'sAdventuresinTheGoodLand-where ya been? whatcha been doin

And just when does a basset hound NOT have its nose to the ground? Look how they are built. Frawg, tell yer mamma you were born that way! Some long lead training MIGHT help. But then again it might not.

    Savingdogs-Saving the chickens

Abi, chickens are not really supposed to be able to fly. My other breeds can barely do more than flap their wings and pretend (and probably dream!). But the EEs are a lighter weight bird, and much prettier. I know they are mutts but oh well, they are just the prettiest chickens.

Colowyo - grudgingly settling in :P

I think I would insist to the landlord that all the electric be inspected, after your experience. Thank God you were not hurt! That could have been really bad.......fire or electrocution. VERY valid points to be upset about. It seems like there should be some sort of legal authority you can call...
