I'm thinking it is mildew for part of it. I will pick up some chamomile tea on the way home from work to see if making a spray with it helps.
We also have a bit of a mouse problem in that area thanks to the owners next door leaving food out for days after previous tenants bolted, hopefully now that a new family is in the house the mousies will move on?
If life hands me a dozen duck eggs I'd hatch them I hear they are wonderful for baking with.
I just had a look at your container plants, very nice! We're having our first ever go at growing vegetables in containers. They are still at the seed stage, but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully they'll grow as well as yours!
Duck eggs are delish! They are extra good for baking because their whites hold together better, so the baked goods rise higher. I've found if I want well beaten eggs I have to use a beater- using just a fork doesn't cut it. Also, it seems to take a little longer to get the whites whipped up if you are making a meringue or something.
Things to do with a dozen duck eggs.... quiche! angel food! frittatta! deviled eggs!
Ducklings I heard duck eggs are amazing to bake with, but the only thing I've done with them so far was hatch them. Goodness those things are beyond adorable.
Well, I hope none of these are going to hatch
I had 2 poached for supper last night, the whites certainly are different. Told roomie about using them for baking and could see the wheels start spinning, so who knows what the rest will become.
You do have to be just a bit careful with the egg whites as they can get rubbery because of that strong cohesiveness they have. I love the extra big yolks though... yumm!
