Realized this morning that it wasn't just from laughing so much last night that I lost my voice. So, I didn't go to church. I had no desire to get anyone else sick this close to Christmas. Played on the computer for a bit and was thinking about going back to bed for a bit when I got a text from KN saying that she thought she saved the tarp over my sbs. OK, not a good text to get. And I still wanted to get the wood out of the back of my truck. So I got dressed, went out and finished unloading the truck. Some went down in the wood holder in the basement-that's full, some went in the wood shed. And the stuff that's either too long or too fat are under cover.

W/that finished, I left for the farm. Got there and found that the tarp had come untied at the top. And she had tied it in one spot, but if it had gotten really windy, it would have either ripped the tarp, or taken it off. But it would have also probably been fine until I got there. I was moving a lot slower than normal. I got the field all cleaned-even where the RB feeder had been! I put some more hay in the RB feeder, put a bale in the feed stall for tomorrow, and tied the tarp down better. CL showed up and found out that her horses had partially taken down a gate, so I helped her get that back in place. Got Stormy fed, the chickens taken care of and left. Got home and took care of the goats.

Unless I do some housework, I'm done for the day. I'm thinking of taking a nap.

Take care of yourself and take it easy! Lots of honey lemon and oil of oregano if you have it.

I've been taking it easy all day long! Only problem being, I HATE to sit around and do nothing!

It's raining! And, we're supposed to get quite a bit. I'm just thankful it isn't snow! So I won't be doing anything outside I don't have to.

I slept fairly good last night, and am feeling a bit better. I can almost talk and have congestion breaking up. Today I'll work for a bit, then rest, then work, then rest. I've gotten one load of laundry folded up. Have 2 more to go as well as some shirts to iron, dishes to do and a living room to straighten up, dust and vacuum. If I get anything else done, it will be a bonus. I had been going to make bread, but I don't think I'm quite up to it.

Same here. I was almost talking normal earlier today, so we'll see what happens.

It is quite wet out there! I'm glad I'm doing messing around outside and can spend the rest of the day inside! But, the horses, goats and chickens are all fed-including hay. I got feed bagged, and got the field picked. Of course, it was barely raining when I started, then when I was about 3/4 of the way done, it started to pour! But w/that done, it will make tomorrow much easier. I've also folded and put away a couple of loads of laundry, went out to breakfast, and taken a nap. Now I'm relaxing for a bit, then I'll get a fire going, and see what I can do about the rest of the laundry and the living room.

I'm beat! I had planned on getting on here last evening, but that never happened. I had a crazy day yesterday and would have liked to have been able to get on and ask for some prayers, but never had the time.

My Mom called yesterday morning just as I got to my 2nd appointment. My Dad was just not acting right and she was more than a bit concerned. She ended up taking him to the ER, and I met her there. And I could see why she was concerned. While he wasn't as bad there as he was at home, he just wasn't right. He had trouble remembering the year, the date, who the president was, how old he is, etc. And, this isn't like him. He's normally pretty sharp. The ER ran some tests, and couldn't find anything wrong. They said it could just be age related (he's 84), but they recommend that he sees a neurologist.

Once he was released, they insisted on getting me some lunch since it was so late. Then, I still had some shopping to do B4 heading back to the farm to feed Stormy. It was getting dark by the time I got there. By the time I got home, got the goats fed, and was able to get in the house, it was almost 6:00. There was just no way I was making the Christmas Eve service. I had too much to do B4 I went to bed. First thing I had to do was make bread. I use my old stand mixer to mix up the dough. It makes horrible sounds when it's set on that setting, but there's not much I can do about it. Get the bread rising, and hubby and DD decide that they need to go out. I was glad to see them go. While they were gone, I got the rest of my living room dusted. When they got back, DD helped me get some stuff out of there, and I got it all vacuumed. I also did some dishes, but wasn't done all of them. By this time, I was exhausted. So I took a nap. Once I got up, I wrapped presents, then read my Bible. I finally got to bed at around 1:45 am.

I still had stuff I needed to get done this morning, so I didn't sleep in like I would have like to have. I was up by 7:00, didn't bother to eat, just headed out to the farm. Got everyone fed, and went back home. Ate some peanut butter crackers while I was driving-that was breakfast. Got home, and got the bathroom cleaned, then took a shower. Shortly after I got out, both of my kids showed up w/their friends. I've met DD's boyfriend B4, and do like him. This was the first time I'd met DS's girlfriend, and I liked her. We opened gifts, and then I got working on the rest of the dishes. Hubby kept asking me to help him-he smoked a turkey and a rib roast, so that meant I was late getting the rest of dinner made. And, I never got dessert made. My parents came over, and my Dad did seem to be better than yesterday, but he's still not right. Once everyone left, I headed out to the farm, and found out that somehow or another, my roosters got out. So, I fed Stormy, then rounded them up and got back home. Now I'm relaxing. It feels much later than it is, and I'll probably head to bed early.

But I am in shock. My family wanted a list of what I wanted for Christmas. I gave them a list and included things that I could really use. And they gave me grief over it. (I asked for things like feed buckets, horse dewormer, etc.) But, in spite of all the grief that the family gave over my list, they got me quite a number of gifts off my list! They gave me the horse wormers I asked for. They also got the buckets! They did not realize until they bought them how expensive they were and FINALLY understood why I asked for them. And things that they got that weren't on my list were actually appropriate-like some nice, warm gloves.

But the biggest shock came w/the last gift that I opened and is why my hubby and DD left last night. They ran to Wally World and bought me a brand new Kitchenaid Stand Mixer!!!!!! I was NOT expecting that. I was hoping hubby could do something about the noise my old mixer was making, but that was all I was hoping for. I just looked on line, and see the old mixers like I have on sale for quite a bit of money. I just might have to see if I can find all the attachments, and sell it.

My parents normally give me money. And, I'm fine w/that. But I sure wasn't expecting the amount they gave me! I'm not posting how much they gave, but I will say that it gives me a nice amount towards a new mower! I have some stuff I want to sell. If I'm able to sell it for the amount I want to, I can buy a brand new mower!

This is the best Christmas I can remember in quite a while. The best present I got did not come wrapped up, but one that I received nevertheless, and that was the gift of hope. I now believe that hubby and I can work out our differences. I may have to leave for a bit come warm weather in order to give him the push he needs, but if it works, it will be worth it.

SO HAPPY FOR YOU! That is wonderful!
Enjoy your new mixer. I love the practical gifts, they often mean the most to me.
You were busy, I don't blame you for not having time to post!

I'm looking into the different attachments and trying to figure out what all I want/need.

Good thing I didn't make a list today cuz I wouldn't have gotten it done! I got a call this morning from one of the people in my Bible study group wanting to know if I was going today. They all wanted an update on my Dad. I thought we weren't having it this week, but since I missed church on Sunday, and missed the Christmas Eve service, I decided to go. It was probably a good thing. I didn't sleep that well last night. I kept waking up, coughing. And, it was one of those dry coughs that don't really seem to do anything. I had planned on stopping at the bank first thing, then going and getting feed B4 heading over to the farm. Instead, I ran to the farm real quick, fed my horses, put out hay and let the chickens loose. Then I went to the Bible Study.

After Bible Study, I went to the bank, then the feed store, then the farm. I had not fed CL's horses this morning, so I had to do them. When I got there, I shut the gate that shuts off the aisle way leading from CL's field to the back of the run in. That way, when I went to feed her horses, I could let them in, but keep the stupid ram out. Got feed into my feed stall, weighed some out for Stormy, got him fed, then let CL's horses up, and slammed the gate in the face of the ram. Get them fed, and checked the farm chickens. It's so cold out, I had to give them water since they had nothing but ice. That's not normally a problem at this time of year! Then I bagged feed. Normally, I don't have to do that on Thursday, but since I had less than a pound of any of the feed, I had to do it today. Then I cleaned out the run in. By the time I was done, the horses had all finished eating, so I let them all loose and opened the gate for CL's horses. Gave my chickens water and food and left.

Once home, I was beat. So I relaxed for a bit, then fed the goats and cut up a bit of wood. I think I'm going to try and get to bed early tonight. It's supposed to be a bit warmer tomorrow, so hopefully I can get more done.
