Hope I did not scare everyone away with my answers! If I offended anyone with my answers, let me know and Iwill remove the ones in question.

I'll skip the childhood except to say "dysfucntional/abusive". I know I'm not alone so why beat a dead horse (so to speak).

The past 21 years with DH (#2) have been amazing. Owned a house, both of us had small businesses. Then we decided to travel because we knew we would not do it when we were older. Figured we could work and stay in a place at least 6 months so we were more than just tourists. It has worked so well it is still hard to believe we are stopping to homestead.

We started off with a used 25ft. motorhome and have lived in everything from travel trailers to mobile homes over the last 9 years. I have waitressed and cleaned and dh did odd jobs. We don't have extra but always have enough. We spent two summers in TX, 5 summers in Cheyenne, WY and 2 summers in Silver City, NM. Also 6 winters in Quartzsite, AZ, 2 winters in Truth or Consequences, NM and one winter in Lake Havasu, AZ. It has been an irreplacable experience!!!! We are ready, more or less, to move on to our next adventure!

DH and I were both raised on small farms which leads us to now.
As of today, three months in LIMBO!!!!

We are waiting on a house (fixer upper) on 3 acres way out which is somewhere in probate. We moved to this area of MS so DH can help his brother on his ranch. Said brother is buying the house and we will rent. But I have so many plans and hopes and dreams and it is driving me nuts sitting in this little travel trailer! I know I have to be patient but it is getting more difficult. I just try to stay busy.

That is my story so far and I will do updates but my life is pretty boring at this point. Really looking forward to "fixing" and will include photos. It's pretty scary right now but we will have help. There are trailer hookups with water, elec. and sewer so as soon as it is done we can move the trailer out there and stay in that until we can move in.

Thanks for listening!

We must be around the same age.... I'm a Captain Kangaroo girl too! :D

Wow, all that traveling sounds great. Sometimes I think I'd like to do that, but then I know I would be homesick. Maybe one of these days I'll at least get to do a 'round the U.S. motor home tour and then go home.

I don't know why, but my favorite Captain Kangaroo character was Kitty Cat. :D

We think we would like to travel around the country in a trailer, but we have way way too many animals now. We are doing it opposite of you- we will travel when we retire and the animals all die off of old age. Looking forward to canning tips! I'm still a bit afraid to do anything other than jams and pickles.

When I first went to Kindergarten, I cried because it meant I missed part of Captain Kangaroo :D The grandfather clock was my favorite. I still remember the song!!!

"The grandfather clock was too large for the shelf so it stood 90 years on the floor...."
