How are you doing and feeling now, FEM?
I'm going stir crazy! But, don't feel energetic enough to do very much - and when I push it I regret it. Stuck in that terrible in-between state! I've read until my eyeballs are tired...I've slept at such odd times so that I have my sleep schedule all messed up. And - I'm whining. That's bad, lol!

But, all in all I'm progressing. No more acute pain...just a different 'sore' area every day. Only thing that would make me feel incredible at this point would be a 20 degree drop in outside temps!

You'll get through this! Feel free to whine in the meantime though :hugs Recovering from surgery sucks, it does...

When are you going back to work again?

Not sure - I guess they'll tell me tomorrow at the follow-up when I'll be released. I'd like to have the next week to get back on track. Hope they see it the same way I do. :fl

Ask them for next week to recover. There's no point rushing back to work if you're not 100% right.

Looks like the reason I've felt crappy the last couple days is that I have something called "Eustachian tube dysfunction." Basically - negative pressure in the ear - it's not infected, but it is responsible for the vertigo and nausea I've felt for a couple days. Got a steroid pack and have already started them. Also got something for the nausea. They've released me to go back to work next week - after Labor day. Yay.

I have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. I had been complaining to my doctor for 4 years about my ear being sore and stuffy - she would look in my ear and say everything is fine. This spring I went for the annual exam and asked her about having "water" in my ear because sometimes I can hear my heartbeat, kinda sounding like when you have water in your ear and I occationally have vertigo when I sit up too fast. She declares that I have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and tells me to use Flonase. It has helped somewhat, but not gotten rid of it.

Holy Cow - I can't imagine dealing with this for 4 years.... Sorry you're dealing with that!

It's such a weird feeling. I've spent two days holding my nose and closing my mouth and trying to blow out my eardrums from the inside, lol. Flonase, huh? I'll try to remember that if it doesn't clear up. But, I'm definitely hoping this steroid pack helps.

Even doctors win the prize for being moronic idiots. :smack

Be careful doing that! The last time I did I ruptured something in my ear, think it may have been the ear drum. Spent days half deaf and back and forth to the doctor before getting it sorted.
