I'll have to admit that for the past five or six years, I've not been as zealous for preparedness as I used to be. However, for the last several months, my zeal has increased for it. I think the current events of the day have pushed me to that point. I feel like, today, we are at place where say everything is better, but it really is not. We give the illusion of safety and improvement, but we are far from it.

1. The moral decay has just stank worse, and increased.

2. The lack of decency in politics, news media, institutions, etcetera has increased.

3. We have leading, major political candidates that endorse an economic system that destroys freedom (while promising so much) in many facets of life. I feel like we are an election away from terrible tax increases, and a violation of freedoms.

4. We have seen periodic military escalations in high risk areas that could quickly re-escalate.

5. I have experienced the worst couple of years for home food production since I started this a decade ago. Last year, my garden failed worse than ever despite my best efforts to start it right.

6. We have seen misinformation from all political and social factions. What can we really trust in secular media?

7. Now, we have the uncertainty and threat with the Coronavirus. It's origins and work of the Chinese government worry me more than an actual pandemic.

So, personally, I do not have any everlasting fears about this present age. I know that God will keep me and protect me through it all. However, my question is what can we ALL do, in wisdom and integrity, do to be better stewards in a time that seems more bleak and dreary?

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travaileth, and thy want as an armed man." Proverbs 6:6-11

"Take therefor no though for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34

@BarredBuff , I believe that we are seeing the playing out of the prophecy leading up to Jesus return. My pastor recently returned from a trip to Israel. The stories he tells about the emotional climate in Israel right now are enough to blow my socks off! His chosen people are being called home from all corners of the earth in unprecedented numbers. The deserts are blooming, and Israel is becoming a major exporter of food crops in the region.

I have no doubt!! The signs are as clear as they could ever have been. I just finished teaching the Book of Daniel. I think the attitude of the current age is indicator as well. We are increasing in knowledge yet know so little. We perceive ourselves as wise but are fools.

There have been wars, upheavals of all kinds, pandemics, plagues and pestilence throughout history. I'm sure that those involved in these, at that time thought it signified the end of the world. I'm pretty sure that if I was in the path of the Mongol horde, I would be looking for the Coming of Christ.

I don't worry about the end. I live every day the best that I can, giving God the Glory. No one knows the timing of the second Coming of Christ, not even Christ himself. I don't listen to what I call Prophets of Doom and Gloom that preach the end times are near/here. If Christ doesn't know, what gives them the inside line on it?

I live in the joy and appreciation of God's creation. I thank Him for this earth, the life on it and the beauty of it. I thank Him for all that He has given me.
Yes, the end of the world will come. Yes, Christ will come again. I prefer to live in the happiness and joy of being a Christian.

Now about the state of this country, politics, world affairs and politics. That's enough to make anybody negative and worried. Certain political candidates are promising everything for free, a socialist takeover and I think we are smart enough to know what that will bring. I am amazed at the support it has garnered. People are selfish, self centered, what's in it for me and screw the other guy, total idiots. Yes, by all means, start stocking up, plant a garden, keep some kind of animals if possible. Most of all, keep it to yourself.

@BarredBuff you have another thread about staying sick. You received good advice on it. Let me recommend a book to you, it is called Minerals for the Genetic Code. It states if there is a deficiency of minerals, disease results. For instance, if you are low in selenium, you will catch viral illnesses. So according to this book, you are deficient in certain minerals that you keep getting sick. Your body cannot fight off sickness if it doesn't have the proper nutrients it needs. I think you would like this book. Then stock up on vitamins and minerals! LOL It also has a reference in the back of the book, where you can find the minerals you need from wild or domestic plants and how many PPM in the plant.

You ask what we can do to be better stewards in this time that seems so bleak and dreary. First of all, recognize that things happen that we have utterly no control over. Second, don't let it get you down. If this country goes to crap, then you can be a bright spot in your community by sharing garden seed and helping people grow something to eat. I have a lot of herbal books that I study. I want a herb garden and I want to plant "wild" herbs. There are weeds and trees on our land right now that are medicinal. If there was to be a pandemic, I would hope to keep my family and friends as healthy as possible. I am not ready for that yet, but I will get there.

You have studied all this before. You are no stranger to being prepared for hard times. So, get back in the swing of things. Plant and save seed of vegetables that are nutrient dense and are good keepers, dehydrate well or can be canned. You know how to do this!

if you wallow in the modern news cycle and social media you pretty much deserve the stress you are bringing upon yourself.

i limit my exposure to the poisons. i see what they've done to other people and i know for myself that they're not good for me.

i hope you can find peace and happiness.
