I know that my DH can cook. He just doesn't like to so he won't. He makes eggs for his breakfast most mornings, although he has been on a cereal kick lately.

My DH is in the kitchen pulling pin feathers from a CCX rooster. Darn thing was covered in pin feathers. He got after it with needle nose pliers and I took a nap. LOL LOL I’m ready to get back in there and finish up but he is still chicken pickin’.

You are I think pretty darn right. The people least prepared to survive currently will more than likely be extremely badly off when a true shtf happens.

@Britesea
It really has been. Lots of people caught with their pants down. Worst part is with the relaxing of s.a.h orders peoples are trying to get right back to how it was prior as fast as they can.

it's been eye opening on some of the stuff I need to be a bit more prepared for. Some of my cracks and slips that needs to be sealed better.

I agree 100% about raising kids to be capable!!!

Plus it's easy. DS5 just tried to throw a temper tantrum over breakfast. A normal mainstream parent of my generation would have fixed him breakfast or got a box of cereal out. I let him metaphorically cry it out. He got himself a dish of frozen raspberries with cream. 😍 And he put the rest of the berries and cream away before eating. win-win

I had both my kids start doing chores by age 2. sorting socks, folding washcloths, putting things away, setting table, putting silverware away from the dishwasher. DS5 started claiming chores for himself by age 2 and he still gets upset if someone else does "his" chores. 😍

Raising children to be helpless... so backwards! And then a little hiccup like a new virus comes along and two generations are having a meltdown.

The next time I hear "unprecedented times" I'm going to throw a fit. It's NOT unprecedented. Y'all are just shortsighted and spoiled.
