Still rainy and wet today, maybe into early tomorrow. Just showery/sprinkly stuff. Had a terrific headache Sunday, didn't get anything done at the house but did pick up some stuff I needed. Then had PT for the knees today and had to take equipment to a farm that tests their own cattle.... got 3 other things that the first Lowe's didn't have; nice to have 2 - 20 miles in either direction so when I am in either direction I can stop.... they are doing some major remodeling and everything is a mess-disorganized..... I should be good to go, tomorrow and the next day. Hoping that the floor sanding guy will be here the end of the week to get that done finally. Had a part go out on the sander, said it normally takes 2-3 days to get stuff and took 2 weeks this time. He has to finish the job he was on, and I said that I well understood as we have equipment for haying that always seems to break down when you least expect it.... but will be SOOOOO glad to get that done. Once that dust and mess is done, I will be able to start moving stuff up here. I just decided that I didn't want to have to clean it again before putting it in the cabinets and all that....Dusting off boxes and all and having it get into everything.

Coffee is ready! Gonna clean house today. Strip the bed, wash the mattress covers, clean sheets, vacuum the floors, mop, dust, the works. Look for things that might trip BJ up, make sure there is walker room, move what needs to be moved. Probably won't get it all done but I'll sure knock a hole in it.

yeah, sanding the floors or drywall work are both things that are best done before you get things moved in. painting too...

Been a couple of real nice days. Hay cut and I spent several hours over the last 3 days either tedding or raking. Got more that I tedded out yesterday but I have to work this afternoon so it will lay all day to dry more. Hopefully will get it raked early Friday after the fog and dew is off...and it will get baled tomorrow eve. This will get rolled.

Still no sander... I am getting very frustrated....thought he was going to be here end of last week. Texted but haven't heard back. He lives in an area with very poor service so trying to be patient....

Patience can only last so long! He should have contacted you. Bet he wants paid on time!! Right? Send a text...to get his a$$ in gear. Time to find another and I know THAT is a problem.

How's the bath rework looking for when that might happen?

The bathroom work is not even on the schedule at this point. I am not even going to think about it. I am going to talk to the former owners and see if the tub was actually leaking..... ds said he thought there were 3 cracks at the drain, but I sure can't see them. I am at the point where if it isn't leaking, as crappy as it is, I may just overlook it and use it as is for now.
Target is still first of the year.... and a friend is interested in renting the stone house.... she and her boyfriend had lived in a real rat trap, and right now are in a small camper at her mom's.... she has had some health problems, and was out of work some.... then found out when she was supposed to have some surgery to remove some screws in her ankle.... from where she broke it and now the screws are actually causing some problems.... that she is pregnant. So she is back to work part-time, he is working... and they can afford about what I was paying.... and it would be alot better than the camper even though it is not the best of places.... but with the baby coming, she really needs some room.... so I told her I would keep her in mind and that I would tell her all the problems up front.... and she said it sounds much better than what they had.... I explained that there were no stairs to the upstairs and that they would not be able to use it.... about the pipes freezing in the real cold.... the bathroom being so far from the bedroom.... but they are only able to afford around 6-650 a month and haven't been able to find anything... so while in the camper are trying to save as much as they can....planning for when she is off work for about a month for the pre-post baby situation. So.... maybe it will work.... since I have not given the landlord any kind of a date yet.... and won't until at least the floor sanding is done so I can start moving some stuff.... and I did tell him that there was a substantial amount of work to be done inside before I could move so would let him know after I got a feel for when I thought I would be moving. This also might solve some of my "crunch time" with catching the barn cats.... and even getting some stuff moved out.....because I could offer to give her a little towards the rent to keep a few of the things there still in the storage building that is there, since she said they don't have alot of stuff.... until I could get them all moved. Get myself out and get them in there.....and then have a little leeway to move some things like the fish tanks and other stuff in the storage building there.... I am going to talk to her some more about it in the next few days.... might work out for all concerned at this point. Not going to count on it... but if I tell him I will be out by the first of the year and present him with a renter at the same time..... then what she & I agree on between us is our business. We have been friends/acquaintances for several years..... I have no intentions of being a jerk to the landlord.... don't want to burn any bridges.... even if he is a jerk to not let me have the chickens here.... they have a dog, but I was told that a dog was okay as long as it didn't tear stuff up....

Possibilities....

As for the floor sander guy..... there is no one else that has an opening before the first of the year.... I did a little checking.... and the one guy wouldn't touch the vinyl.... I keep telling myself that.....Patience is a virtue and I am a saint...

Hope it works for you -- hasn't always for me... For a while, then things change. You ARE in a precarious position with the limited people to select from. That hurts.

I'd sure check out the leak issue....go to the access, put something under that drain and run some water.....that will telll ya. You may be able to just remove the drain and "fix" any small leak. It may be a useable tub until Spring when you have more time and $$ to splurge.
