3PM iced, sugared and creamed coffee break. I made a lemon chess pie this morning, so had a piece of pie too. DH wanted a piece of pie so bad, but I made him wait. I was examining sheep fecal samples for worms and told him I wanted pie too, but pie and sheep sh!t don’t mix. So we enjoyed our pie together. LOL

I finished fecal samples examination under the microscope on the 6 ewes and Ringo. I had a hard time even finding worm eggs to count. Ringo had ONE. Miranda Lambert had ZERO. You multiply the number of barber pole eggs times 50, to come up with a worm count, so Ringo has a count of 50. The highest count was Aria, found 5 eggs, which gave her a count of 250, still very low. I’ve had ewes with counts so high I wondered why they weren’t dead. A couple months ago, we took 6 ewes to auction, culled the flock. I kept 7 ewe replacement lambs and we bought 2 registered ewes 3 1/2 months old a couple days ago. Building a better flock!

I am done with the Dirty Birdies. No more Cornish Cross to feed, water, move their tractor daily, or butcher. I am through! :weee:weee:weee

We raised 73, sold 45 and stuffed the rest in the freezer, that we will split with our DD and family. I canned 21 quarts of chicken parts for the dogs. I had a bunch of breast bones (skinless boneless breast) that I was going to simmer for broth, but I already have 34 pints. So I sent DH to the Pig Palace and he tossed them over the fence. There were a lot of them. Pigs loves them some chicken!
Congrats your finally done.
Coffee is ready, going for my second cup. Got plum juice in the refrigerator to make into jam today. That will give me more room in the refrigerator. Then I can cram other stuff in it. Dunno what, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. LOL
You may have posted it already but I may get some plum recipes from you.
Happy Father’s Day all!
I'm a little late but thanks.

Seperate note. Ice and Coffee do not belong in the same sentence. Maybe one cube in the first cup when at hospital that has the scallding hot machines.

I LOVE a good Iced coffee. When I make it at home: If with milk, I put a bit of vanilla and sugar. If with creamer, just the ice. But, often, I'll pour the coffee (boost it up with a bit of instant) add a scoop of coffee icecream to chill and flavor it! That ice cream iced coffee stands in as a cooling beverage, and takes the place of dessert. I rarely buy iced coffee when we are out, b/c it seems a shame to spend good money on what I can make and enjoy at home. I'm such a skin flint. Hubby says that I pinch my pennies until they bleed.

OH! the ice cream sounds GREAT!!!! it really does take the place of desert for me, it is the (yes I know its not a word) Funnest thing to eat in my house right now- we are on a strict no fun stuff eating right now, I have dropped 10 and need to drop , in my dreams20 more but I'll be happy with 10 more.

You add extra ice cream for me K 🥰
Funnest is definitely a word. There are many words in my vocabulary that raise eyebrows. I have the covid 20 to shed, and then an other 10 would get me to a happy spot, where it would be oh so much easier to tie my shoes. So, let's hear about some of your "no fun stuff eating right now" meals. We need to be doing the same. Hubby is the diabetic, and has more of a sweet tooth than I do! I can make an entire meal out of veggies, with a bit of cheese added for protein. Hubby is a meat and veggies kind of guy, but will play along with me for a while.

I like to tell myself that a small indulgence will prevent a big "all out" falling off the wagon event in the future. I have yet to really test this theory to find out how true it is.

Proven by many to very effective and now more commonly suggested to keep anyone on their diet. Even on the radio about every New Year's resolution time anymore it seems.

@CLSranch i buy the sure jell in the pink box, it takes less sugar. I cook the plums, simmer for couple hours, then I mash them through a giant tea strainer. I give the seeds and skins to the pigs.

Follow the directions that come with the sure jell for some delicious wild plum jam.

Pomona's pectin is the ONLY one I use. It requires calcium for the gel. No sugar required. So... I can make my jams and jellies just as tart as I want. I can't stand the cloying sweetness of regular jams and jellies, and absolutely won't use artificial sweeteners. Nor do I like the way honey changes the flavor of jams. Working with Pomona's is just about as easy as mixing up a batch of Jello. But, b/c of the decreased sweetener, the jam must be HWB processed, and used quickly after opening.
