Daydreaming while waiting impatiently!

Busy day here! I met friends at a park. I hadnt seen them since late June. DS6 played on a playground. He loves the zipline.

Fun shopping, quick errands, worked at vet clinic a couple hours because they were short staffed. Resting for a bit before DS6's violin practice 😣 making supper, etc, and working tonight. I just want to garden. 😑

Tomorrow we will sort sheep for keepers and sellers. Livestock auction is this weekend. I have gardening plans for the weekend. DH has 3-day weekend, kids have a 4-day weekend. Time to get stuff done! 🤞

My big dog is already trained to get in my "new" grooming tub voluntarily. A couple cans of cat food made that easy. DH is installing the plumbing now!

DH picked up steel siding to turn the corn crib into a storage building.

We haven't start sorting sheep and haven't decided which lambs to keep or cull yet.

When going through sheep records to prepare for sorting sheep, I found a ewe that was supposed to be sold last year. I get to keep my 2nd favorite ewe, Avalon. DH wanted to cull her because she lambs late, and tends to have quads, so her lambs are small at the end of pasture season. I was unable to find her a pet home this summer.

We are almost ready. Trailer and chute are set up. Cull ewe is sorted in, freezer lambs sorted out. Only problem is that we have one more lamb on paper than in the pen - must have lost a lamb this spring and didn't get it into my notes. I'm not looking forward to figuring out which tag number isn't in the pen.

We got sheep to auction! We climbed in the trailer with a list and flashlight and figured it out. Without fighting too!

I hope they do okay. DH has seen lamb prices between 1.80 and 2.40 in our area recently. Anything over 2.00 is good, IMO

🤞 for a good check! I just checked and that’s similar to lamb prices here. Well, in MA. We don’t have a livestock auction in NH.
Do you wether ram lambs or leave them intact?

Since my husband was NOT and early get up and go person, we always loaded animals in the evening (still daylight) before. parked truck and trailer in ready to go position, provided feed, hay and water for the night. Then I could roll him out the door for us to make it to auction or slaughter in time.

We wether them. I missed one and are going to harvest at home. If it tastes the same we might not wether them next year. The ram lamb and his ewe twin didn't get tails done either. We are curious if she will be sold separately because of her tail. I would be happy to not wether or tail band lambs. I think it sets them back - especially bottle lambs
