Wow, your cold is hitting fast. We have 2 days with highs in the 20's before the single digits and below-zero lows. Today will be colder than yesterday's forecast predicted. Bummer, that makes animal chores more difficult.
Power outage map for my area.

There's a stick twisting wires together that has power out for me and my neighbors. 5-minute fix. But it's gonna be a while...

Safe and slow doing the chores, praying for your family and farm to make it through. 🥰

@tortoise we have the generator all gassed up here, but haven't had to use it in the winter yet--we did use it twice this summer after a couple storms. Road were junk last night, we went to plow at our property 10 min north and I ended up having to push out DH's vehicle from the driveway and pull him up a hill that he got stuck on (good ole Subaru!)

Kids have another late start today--day 3. We have about 9 inches of the heavy wet snow, looks pretty but that is about it. Going to get COLD here starting tomorrow, we have projected highs of 0F-yep 0F for highs. DD8 said that is not a high! haha
And you all too, praying for safety for everyone! 🥰

TY. My family will be fine - we have many options. This storm hit low income areas, we're worried about people in mobile homes. I am considering rejoining Facebook to join a community group. I'm sure there are many who need help but I don't have a way to know what I can do.

We have some not to bad snow coming down from Canada. We never know what to expect. they say one thing and it goes south quick, so plan for the worst and pray for the best.

Happy Friday! Warm thoughts to you all in snow ❄️ today. Rained all night here.

Brisk and cold here this weekend. Our group is going to the Western Reserve National Cemetery tomorrow morning to participate in laying wreaths on the veteran gravesites. Over 45,000 vets/spouses are buried there.

I've used this, it worked great for a few years. @baymule if you get one don't bother with the little green cans. You can get a 6' adapter hose that can hook up to a 20# blue rhino bottle or a 30-40# camper bottle. Dejavo maybe. Also get a little propane filter for it. Filter and hose can be aquired at TSC. Much better than sleeping in the car with it running.

I've used my ole' Subaru to pull 1 ton trucks. It was more the ice under the snow that got them. I also drove it all over that 1 winter knowing my truck couldn't go anywhere.
