Not many members today. Been busy crocheting a shawl for my sister. She likes butterflies so decided on a butterfly-prayer shawl. Just halfway now but interrupted by Gurney's catalog,lol

Boy does that make me feel old... Do many of you remember the ones with the glass doors that did the folding thing and when you shut them with you inside the light automatically came on????
I still have a rotary dial phone that was my GRANDFATHER'S from when he worked for the phone company .... he's been gone now 15 years at least... with the 4 prong plug, to plug into the wall.....

Only saw ones with doors when we visited family in Portland. Always so busy with some guy changing his clothes in them.

Oh yeah, I remember phone booths!! And I have a rotary phone...as well as one that is wooden, has an earpiece on a cable and you speak into a funnel thing...rotary crank on side to get the operator. vinyl records were in, back then.

Makes me feel old also I remember the telephone booths, although they were far and few in-between, mainly outside the stores in strip malls, because indoor malls weren't invented yet 😂

Most pay telephones I remember, are like the one pictured with the telephone book in a thick plastic binder. They were near the front of most businesses.

It's been a long time since we've received a telephone book. But I sure recall using them. How many businesses were called AAA... something or other? 🤣

I have fond memories of dropping a dime in and calling dad on one like is pictured. So he would come pick us up from the bowling alley, because we were done bowling. Although sometimes dad would just show up at the bowling alley. I suspect to check up on us and if we were doing what we said we were gonna do or not. But sometimes he bowled a few games with us also.
