It's been crazy weather! Yesterday, driving home a different route, I saw 3 homes that had no garden this yr. Looked like maybe they had a couple plants but not like a full garden. Close to my farm and I'm thinking it was like mine, just too wet to get one in. A lot of rain and almost every day. Even the farmers were unable to get into a lot of their fields.

Sad for all of us but, felt better about my own not being "just me" not doing. A few others further away had way less than normal. At least some things tho. Yeah, bad year for many gardens.

What do we say? Always next year!! 🤣

I was thankful to get what I got from my garden but even so - certainly can't call it a good garden year! I harvested some corn. Not a lot but just enough to make me determined to plant again next year. I should have put in an extra planting - I had time back then - but life got in the way. Had several good pickings from the Purple Dove beans. Love them! Hot peppers are doing well and of course the eggplants that I just harvested. Okra is doing ok too. As usual the stink bugs got the tomatoes despite my new screen house. I'll rework that some before next spring. I need a better way to secure the screen to the frame without actually sewing it on there, lol. Squash bugs got all the squash - I might have harvested one. I never even planted garlic or onions this spring. So yeah - the time that we need to be able to grow and harvest our own goodies - things don't go as planned. Always next near!!

they are great beans and i'm glad they're working out well for you down there. :)

boo! hope next year works out better.

my garlic was lifted late but looks ok so far. i'm curing it indoors, there's just not enough room in the garage for them plus i also had to get the onions in and started to cure so they get the garage space instead. so far it looks like the nicest onion harvest we've had in terms of quality and shape even if they aren't all big that's ok - they will certainly be enjoyed. :) we eat a lot of onions...
