Nasty looking apple cleft graft. The rootstock was way to big for the scion. But I grafted it anyways, it took and is growing like crazy, about 6 foot tall now. Some of my grafts may be ugly and all, but they take, so I'm happy about that. This just means I need to improve the esthetics of my grafts. This will come with more practice. Practice only happens once a year, since I only graft during late winter/early spring.

Go ahead and grab a chuck. Make sure its organic, healthy and has green buds. Place it on the counter, whole and unwashed in a open ended brown paper sandwich baggie laying on its side.

I'll write up how I got mine going when I get some time. You need to let it acclimate a few weeks in the darkness of the open ended sandwich baggie first though. It needs temperatures above 60 F, darkness and good airflow for a few weeks before you try to spout it 👍
