What did you do in your orchard today?

Sprayed the first cover spray on the apple trees this evening - timing seemed good, and the winds were calm right before sunset. I spotted a few moths, so hopefully it was effective. I’m hoping it was, since it’s shaping up to be a great year for apples - lots of clusters set. I’m so grateful to the bees for working so hard to pollinate them. You can probably see the results of their work in the picture. I had nothing to do with making all those baby apples other than being kind to my honey bee friends 🍏🐝:).

Next up for the first cover spray are the cherry trees - but it’s still too early. They’re just a little past mid-bloom, and my good honey bee friends are working them over well. Only one thing to say: keep on pollinating, my little honey bee friends. I know their bloom time isn’t abnormally long… but it feels like they stay in bloom forever. Then the cherries ripen real fast 🐝🍒🙃

Sounds like someone has hives near you 🥰👍
I thought I knew where the hives were, but I was mistaken - the person who cared for them has moved on, and now I’m not sure where the bees are. I’m just grateful for the work they do, even if I don’t know where they come from - they are more than welcome here.
