Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Had my latest wellness visit. Mostly green across the blood work items, except for iron and B12. Might explain the lack of energy that I was attributing to SAD with all this grey weather. Got a B12 shot, taking an iron supplement, and my PCP said to eat more steak.

@flowerbug Why the fake coffee???

flavor. i can't have as much caffiene as would be in a full teaspoon of instant coffee - i can have about 1/4 teaspoon of instant regular coffee and then the rest has to be the fake stuff.

i'm very sensitive to caffiene and right now pretty wired from just that little bit of caffiene.

at the end of this experiment i'll have to gradually get off the caffiene if i want to avoid a withdrawal headache.

Also, used Lowe's gift card from the kids to help buy a new Dewalt cordless drill. I had been given new drill bit and screw bit sets already. Time to retire the Craftsman electric drill I have had since 1987 and the miscellaneous loose pile of drill bits collected over decades. No more dragging power cords all of the place. Plus the charger fits my string trimmer.

i think that is fairly common among older folks as they have a harder time absorbing the B12 and iron.

the phillips screwdriver bits are a horrible design. i think almost every one of those i have in the house in any form are beat up and don't do a very good job in either direction.

the new string trimmer and blade attachements for the driver/battery pack unit we bought last year are pretty good as by the time i do an hour of either i'm ready to quit anyways. fairly heavy but not beyond what i can do. i hate that specific chore but i hate mowing even more.

ok, i'm doing grumbling for the morning. :)

I'm off shortly to go set up for this Self Sufficient Fair. Its our second year of attending. The Super and I from the Canning and Dehydrating Dept at the County Fair will be set up on 2 8' tables.

I was told to eat liver back when I was first diagnosed with my iron issue. Then when I said that wasn't happening because I dislike liver, I was told lamb. I've found over the decades that as long as I eat meat once a day I meet my heme iron needs. Iron pills don't help me as it's non-heme iron.

Hubby just has to take an iron pill 3 times a week because he was low.

Well I slept in or we might have made the drive to that.

We were supposed to go clam digging yesterday but my knee is still hurting
