Grandmother didn't have a phone

I only ever was just OK at them. Some stumped me. Others go off on unrelated tangents for their answers. Those I don't consider puzzles.
Grandmother had a rotary phone and she didn't know how to dial it. I initially also thought it was Grandma didn't have a phone, but apparently I was an idiot for not making an assumption.

See if you heard that in the 80s I don't think that would have been answerable by anyone in my hometown. We all had rotary dial phones until 1985 because the phone company actually owned them.

Friend of mine told a riddle about a flower that turned into a woman at night and the answer was you could tell which one was her because the flower had no dew on it in the morning. I had so much trouble with that because dew was an abstract concept to me at that age. I'd never experienced it. You don't get dew when your humidity is in the single digits. Dew point was always way lower than temp. Except in winter, but I never connected the frosted grass to dew.

Those make my head hurt.

Like an IQ test, it's context dependent. If you don't have the "correct" background, you won't get the questions right.
