ITA with Sylvie. Not to over-simplify the issue but in my world Monstanto is the devil. I hate them and frankly, find their practices, GMO's, & their army of attorneys flat out evil.
We are doing the Dave Ramsey thing this year. We have our emergency savings account now so it is time to pay off all debt. I hope to have all but the mortgage and those god-awful student loans gone by the end of this year.
Yesterday we found a guy locally who said we can have all the black walnuts we could haul. We showed up and got a couple of bags worth BUT they are not out of their pods yet. I grew up with a huge English Walnut tree that provided great nuts that fell out of their pods so boy was I disappointed...

People in 3rd world countries are not unaware. They know of food they cannot afford to buy. They know the internet exists. They watch TV...just normally it is one TV at a storefront and people gather around communally...

The processed crap seemed to run over the American table. We don't eat like that so it throws me off when I stop and realize the bulk of our country does. The Indian family looked like that had GREAT...
DH and I once bought pallet loads of TVs from Goodwill for $60. We got about 20 TVs and sold them for $30 each to college students. We cleared almost $500 (a couple of the TVs didn't work properly...always a risk).
I need to do this. We have TVs, DVD players, satellite receivers, cell phone chargers, computers and monitors all sucking us dry. I just need to write myself a memo to TURN OFF THE POWER STRIPS so I don't forget. LOL
I voted for Obama and am a big supporter. That being said I do NOT think he deserved this award in the least. Nothing he has done even comes close to work done by past winners like Nelson Mandela, The Dalia Lama, Mother Theresa, etc. Frankly I was stunned and disappointed he accepted the award.
