Thanks for the tip to stir like crazy for a few days! I just switched from the powdered recipe to the liquid and was quite sure I'd messed up as it's very glumpy on top, but now I know it can still be salvaged.

I took my Ball Blue book to the printers and had them cut the spine off and spiral bind it. It only cost a dollar or so. Now it lays flat on any page, no more putting a jar on both corners to hold it open!
