I've tried sorghum, a grain type, though I don't think it came with a variety name. It was hugely productive. Produced an incredible volume of grain.

Main focus is tomatoes, peppers, peas and beans. But there are also some miscellaneous nightshades, flowers, fruits, etc. Hoping some day for a root cellar to do biennial root crop seeds and potatoes.

How rare is it to get into those low temperatures? Do you get regular frost at a point in your growing season?

Me too! 😯 The heat has to be turned on in both house and car. The fall rains are starting too, I'm worried for my maturing pole bean seeds out there. Hope they don't split open. Luckily I've harvested about 3/4 of the garden by this point, so that's the only crop in danger.
