We get our water from a spring, not a well, and our water is hard and very calcified to say the least. Does anyone else have the same situation and what do you use for a laundry detergent ?

Yep, what thenorth said about the egg. One raw egg a week(specialy in the winter)and once er twice week, a schpritz o' cheap vegetable oil on the food. The veggy oil works wonders for hot spots also ( an area o' yer dogs body that it licks or chews on excessively). clears 'em right up.

No I Bee i haven't tried the suggestions because they pertain to fungus. There is no oder to his ears so i've ruled that out. I am however gonna try sundance' suggestion with the vinegar and alcohol.
