    What kind of wood do you burn?

    The ironwood doesn't get much bigger then 12 inches at DBH. So I don't have to split many pieces per tree. The wood is very hard but it's straight grained so it splits easier then you'd think.

    I've cut 35 face cord so far this year for our house and my mom's house. I have a Jonsered 2150, a wheelbarrow and a splitting maul. I've mostly cut sugar maple, red elm, beech, ironwood, black cherry and yellow birch.

    Pure Maple Syrup??

    Last year we made 58 pints of maple syrup. It took us about 10 days worth of boiling and about 3 face cord of firewood. We've been eating alot of pancakes, waffles and I use it in homemade pork and beans.

    Old Farmers Dump Mason Jars

    This year I did 108 jars total of tomatoes, salsa, sauce, and applesauce. We either are getting a pressure canner for Christmas, or we are going to buy one. So next year I'll be canning beans, corn, carrots, etc all stuff from our large garden. So extra mason jars will come in handy.
