Pool ...how can I save money/energy on it?

New question: Is there anything I can do, put in my pool etc to run the pump less? Is there a good, inexpensive solar power pump available?

    Window Unit vs Central Unit

Ok Annie...is your yard DOA yet? I am about ready to call it quits on watering. My grass looks like twigs. So while hubby is out of town, I moved mattress downstairs with fan. I turn on Window unit too 79 energy saver mode during day since I got cutie pie dog and two hens inside while at work...

    Window Unit vs Central Unit

Thanks for all the replies. I am from Houston/hubby from NY. I am fine with the fan on, he has to have it cold, so we will keep working on this! I hate turning on AC or heater. In winter I just sleep with heated mattress pad and elec blanket. Don't think we turned heat on but 1 or 2 times last year.

Pool ...how can I save money/energy on it?

    emptying a chest freezer

We had done FFA 26 meat chickens. I am down to about the end of them. I had got a small chest freezer to keep them in. I can now fit them in my second fridge freezer. Question: how do your turn off chest freezer but not have it smell bad?

I found my way here from Backyard Chickens! I survived Hurricane Ike and two weeks of no power. I learned a great deal from it. Here are a few things i learned. I am looking to learn from others too. 1. Don't count on the government to help you at all. 2. Don't listen to your friends or family...
