    The Freeze-Drying Thread

I have 2 five gallon buckets and a large tote full of mylar bags of meals at this point. I have also freeze dried some fruits and veggies. BTW, freeze dried pineapple is like eating candy when you do not rehydrate it. Yum.

    What's for dinner?

We had kalbi marinated flank steak last night, which was delicious. So tonight I'll make tacos with the leftover beef.

When you separate out the "eating beans", why do you name them that? Do you also have a container of "don't eat beans"? What do you do with those? I'm just curious. Why not just call them beans?🤔

We love tilapia, but I wouldn't wait for it to be on special. It might be price reduced because of age. Best to eat it fresh. A great mild fish that lends itself to a panko breading and frying, or baked in a nice lemon sauce.

I love spicy foods, but this was too spicy even for me. I would use half the red pepper next time.

    What's for dinner?

Homemade chicken pot pie tonight. It was good, really good, but does anyone have a recipe for one that actually cuts like a piece of pie? Or should I just invest in individual pie pans?

You're welcome. Yes, it is an investment, so you have to really want to do it. I only needed the small Harvest Right freeze dryer for the two of us, so only about $2,500 +/- . But, using it is not complicated at all and there are a lot of videos on Youtube for how to freeze dry and how to...
